Marvin Lee McCormick, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend. Born Wednesday, September 29, 1937 in Denton, Texas to his loving parents, Paul Lee & Birdie Marie (Gentry) McCormick; went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with his loving wife Darline and family by his side. Marvin has been a longtime resident of the Tulsa area; relocating from Dallas with his family after the war. Marvin was blessed as a young man by a loving extended family. He enjoyed coaching league football and baseball for many years in his free time. He retired from PSO in 1996 after 39 years of service. But what Marvin was truly passionate about was his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved so dearly. Fond memories will always be cherished of Marvin especially by those who had their lives touched by him. Marvin is preceded in death by his loving parents and his dear son, David. Marvin is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Darline E. McCormick; his five loving children, Jodi, Ron & wife Linda, Michael & wife Gayle, Dick & wife Tina, Mark & wife Debbie; his eight dearly loved grandchildren; his sixteen loving great grandchildren; his one precious great-great grandchild and numerous other loving family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11:00AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Rose Chapel. Services have been entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home, Floral Shop, Crematory & Memorial Gardens, 6500 S. 129th E Ave; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that a donation be made to the American Cancer Society in Marvin’s name.
