My Birthday is just a day before Mary Lou's. My thoughts turn to her as we remember her this weekend. We celebrate the life of a truly remarkable woman that made my brother so happy. She was more than a sister-in-law to me; she was a source of inspiration, kindness and unwavering strength. Her presence lit up every room she entered, Her smile was infectious.

Mary Lou touched the lives of so many with her selfless spirit. Whether it was through her sports, her community involvement, or her deep and abiding love for her family. Mary Lou made a lasting impact on everyone she met. She will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, and we are grateful for the time we had with her. Until we meet again...

As Mary's sister I had the privilege of meeting her at birth. She was always a kind and gentle person. The odessey to her passing was a difficult one, but I received the gift of learning about her and how she was a definite light in the lives of many, beginning with her family. She fiercely loved her boys. More recently she derived such happiness from her activities of tennis and most importantly her jewelry making through the Glass Station. I will miss her. It was a privilege to stay with her during her last hours.

Tyler and family, I was so sorry to read about your precious mother this morning. I remember her coming to the yearbook room several times during your senior year to give me photos for your senior baby ad. She wanted it to be just right because she was so proud of you, your accomplishments, and your friends. I remember what a lovely woman she was and how much she loved you and her family. Keeping her dear boys, and all the family and friends who Mary Lou loved in our prayers. What a "light" she was to those who got to know her! I got to know her as she did so much to generously help Ms Diana and her students, and always with a big smile! I will wear the beautiful glass items made by her and always think of her class and sparkle. I pray her boys will somehow be able to carry on her "light" in their lives. Mary Lou was such a joy to be around. She could light up a room like no other person I know. Her smile and warmth could make anyone feel welcome. I feel blessed to have known her, even for the short time that we had been acquainted. Mary Lou made the world a much brighter place to me. She had wonderful talent making jewelry. I was always amazed at what she was making. I will miss her, but she will live on in our memories as a beautiful lady, inside and out, who made everyone feel special. All who knew her have been blessed.
