Mary Louise Frick's Obituary
Mary Louise Frick, a resident of the Country Club of Woodland Hills, passed away on January 11 at the age of 97. Born in Ironton, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Mayfield Huff and Pearl Workman Huff, she spent most of her childhood in Tulsa, graduating from Central High School. She attended Oklahoma State University where she pledged Pi Beta Phi sorority and graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. Working as a reporter on the Tulsa Tribune, she met and married Tribune political reporter Nolen Bulloch, and they had four children. She later received a Masters of Education from Tulsa University and taught English for 10 years at Memorial High School in Tulsa. After the death of Nolen Bulloch, she moved to Stillwater and taught journalism and English at Oklahoma State, marrying fellow faculty member Leo Turner, who pre-deceased her. At the age of 65, she earned her PhD in English Literature from OSU. Upon completion of her degree, she obtained a full-time teaching position in the Department of English at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. She retired in 1995 and shortly thereafter married John Frick and moved to Morrison, OK. Always musical and a talented pianist, she began to study the organ when she was 60 and became an accomplished church organist, playing at churches in Alva and later in Morrison. She will be remembered for her graciousness, her absolute loyalty to family, her musical talent, her intellectual curiosity, and her personal elegance. Preceded in death by her grandson Samuel Bulloch, she is survived by her husband John Frick and her brother Jack Huff as well as her children Steven Bulloch (Mayo), Ann Brown (Baird), Mary McNeal (Robert), and Tom Bulloch (Janet) and her beloved grandchildren Cortney Bulloch Dennis and Mickey Bulloch Anson; Jessica Bulloch Damon; Ian, Peter and Jaime Brown; Timothy and John Bailey; and Rachel Bailey Parks and 15 great-grandchildren. A memorial service is being planned at the Morrison Methodist Church at 2pm on Saturday March 18. Donations in her name may be made to the Morrison Public Schools Band, P.O.
