Mary Louise Haynes' Obituary
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma – Mary Louise Haynes graced us with her unconditional love for 84 years beginning in Rockford, Illinois, and leaving us from her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Mary was born unto Clara and Ferdinand Lofgren on May 14th, 1930. Mary graduated from Rockford East High School class of 1947 and went to every High School reunion, all 15 of them, with her classmates since then. She also kept up with her Bridge club meeting with them once a month for many years. While raising the beginning of the Haynes Family Tribe, Mary worked at Martin Marietta (Manley Sand) in Rockton, Illinois, and the Broken Arrow Ledger in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In her later years, Mary worked as a volunteer voting Judge for Wagoner County. You could always find Mary in the kitchen in the morning working on her crossword puzzles and Cryptoquotes while sipping on her coffee. She led a very diverse life being known for her marksmanship in Archery which included hunting deer and her amazing luck in fishing. She also taught many of her family members how to knit, crochet, gardening, and canning. The Haynes Family Tribe grew from the initial 6 children who knew their mother for the numerous primitive camping trips, visits to the bowling alley, and family support no matter what happened in life. The 20 grandchildren knew Grandma’s and her house for the riding lawn mower, pulling weeds in the garden with Grandpa, and doing the dishes. 37 (and counting!) great grandchildren were held and loved by their Great Grandmother while participating as a community keeping the pecans picked up, sliding down the stairs, and long talks in the kitchen. The 1 great great grandchild was blessed as well to be held by her loving embrace. The overall 64 family members and countless loved ones always received birthday and anniversary cards without fail and ontime. The cards are cherished to this day by all that received them. She was predeceased by her first husband Thomas C. Hopper and second husband Allen A. Haynes. Mary was reunited with them spiritually on Monday March 2nd, 2015. We are honoring Mary’s life at Floral Haven on Monday March 9th at 10 ‘o clock in the morning. Please send all correspondence to her home address. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make a monetary contribution, please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in Mary’s honor. Many of the Haynes Family Tribe have served or are still serving in the Armed Forces.
