Matthew Alan Curlee, 36, passed away on May 16, 2026.
He was born on December 19, 1989, in Tulsa, OK and joined the family of Leon and Jo Curlee the following month. Matthew was a quiet, thoughtful soul whose kindness and loyalty left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. He lived life with curiosity and depth, always researching, learning, and seeking to better understand the world around him.
A deep thinker with an old soul, Matthew found joy in the simple comforts of life — especially the companionship of his beloved cat, Raina.He had a passion for cooking and especially enjoyed following the culinary work of Gordon Ramsay. Matthew also loved historical fiction and period dramas, appreciating the stories, history, and humanity they brought to life.
Though quiet by nature, he deeply valued his friendships and was known as a loyal and dependable friend.Matthew dreamed of finishing college and becoming a veterinarian, reflecting his compassionate heart and love for animals. His gentle spirit, intelligence, and genuine care for others will be remembered always by those who loved him.
Matthew is preceded in death by his father Leon Curlee
Matthew is survived by his mother Jo Curlee, sister Heather Ashby, brother David Curlee, sister Miranda Anders, sister Allie Abner, along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
