Merrick will always be remembered by us as a complete gentleman. He always greeted us with a meaningful and genuine smile at church and always was ready to have a fun conversation. He is at peace now with our Heavenly Father.
Merrick was a special friend to me and Tuesday night was pizza night. He always looked forward to that time because we would meet David and Laura and eat together—not that he liked pizza that much but he loved the vegetables on the salad bar. I got to know him better because of Facebook. I think he realized that I didn’t go out except to church and he wanted to make life better for me. He was in my Sunday school class and, of course, he was a greeter so a hug was always appropriate. Not only did I gain a friend in him but I met his kids and some of his grandkids and they were so nice to me! He will always be remembered as a very special friend!
Merrick was a wonderful friend to us. We met when we started to Indian Spring Baptist Church almost 5 years ago. He greeted us at the door and made us feel so welcome. We were in the same Sunday School class. He attended most of the Senior Fellowships that I helped plan for the Senior Saints. So sorry for your loss. My Father-n-law, Joe Frazier Sr. was a neighbor to Mr. Harmon and they quickly became good friends. Papa always referred to him as "Lefty" and after watching services online I assume he got that nickname as a left handed golfer. He was such a sweet man and good friend to our Father. We will always cherish memories of Papa and Lefty.
Merrick was a dear friend! Always enjoyed our early morning walks. Last visit was at Silver Estates just before Christmas. Took him some of the fudge he loved so much! Due to my health had to visit via phone! Rest In Peace Merrick, until we meet again!
