Nelly Aranda Fetsch's Obituary
Nelly Aranda Fetsch, 94, was born on April 5, 1927 in Maracaibo, Venezuela in South America. She was the youngest of eight children born of Victor Manuel Aranda and mother Maria Eliza Aranda. Her brothers and sisters preceded her in death. They are Victor Jose, Fernando, Eduardo, Carmen, Marina, Alicia, and Josie Price.
She was also preceded in death by her son Eddie Joseph Fetsch, Jr. and her husband Edward Joseph Fetsch, Sr.
Her living daughters are Linda Marie Fetsch and Brenda Lee Fetsch.
Nelly went to high school at Holy Name Convent in Trinidad. She later worked at Flint Oil Company and with Menegrande Oil Company. She moved to Dallas, Texas in Holland Park and worked for Universal Pictures for seven years. She went to business school in Dallas to learn typing skills. She went back home to Venezuela to visit her parents and met Edward Fetsch on a blind date during a 4th of July celebration.
They married shortly thereafter. They traveled all over the world with Edward's petroleum engineering career. They visited Iran, Greece, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Scotland.
Nelly loved to play golf and belonged to LaFortune South Lake Womens nine hole Golf Association. She also played on softball teams as the catcher.
She delivered Meals on Wheels and belonged to Red Hats and enjoyed going to Senior Keen-agers at St. Bernard's Parish.
She always wanted to let people know that she had no gray hairs. HA! HA!
