Nita will be sorely missed by her friends and family. She was an exceptionally kind and thoughtful lady who never had a harsh word to say about anyone. When we retired together in 2003, Nita gave me a Care Bear because there was a funny story behind it and she hadn’t forgotten the incident. (You have to be a senior person to remember Care Bears.) Anyway, I still have the Care Bear….still in it’s original package…just as Nita gave it to me. It’s even more of a treasure to me now. I first met Nita when we both worked in Finance and Accounting for the Corps of Engineers and we became good friends….both at work and at play. Even after retiring at the same time, we shared many good times together. Her sister made the best homemade croutons and Nita would bring me a bag of them to put on my salads….but I chose to eat them right out of the bag instead because they were so good. Nita was always so very considerate of other people. Even though we lost contact over the last few years, you were in my thoughts and now you will always be in my heart, too. Well, my dear friend, now you are resting safely in the arms of our Lord. May your family and friends find comfort in that knowledge. Those of us who knew you will always love you, Nita.
