Our parents, Emmi & Jerry, met Jean many years ago when they moved into the home next door to hers in Cumming GA. We all knew as soon as we met Jean that she was a very special person who we all wanted to get to know better. Emmi remembers their first encounter with Jean. A pipe burst in Jean’s home, and Jerry went over to help. This man who likely has never lifted a mop handle in his entire life was over at Jean’s house happily mopping up floors in an effort to try and help this vivacious and charming new neighbor of theirs. It wasn’t long before a beautiful friendship developed between the three, and my parents were forever grateful to share such a wonderful neighbor. Jean had that effect on people – you just wanted to spend time with her - even as a family of introverts who typically avoid people! :) We also loved her sweet dog, Willie, and my parents loved babysitting him on occasion. We were so sad when Jean moved away from the community, and so happy every time we heard from her after she left. We will miss Jean horribly and will think of her always as one of the sweetest and most wonderful people we have ever met.
