Nancy, Ray did so much to help his brother Bob, and I appreciate it so much, as do Jim and Laurie. He was a good man, and my memories of him are so good. But wait!! -- his bq bologne was the BEST!! So glad I got to share in that treat!
We loved him and you! God bless your family.
Uncle Ray we will miss you dearly. Terry and I always enjoyed visiting with you and aunt Nancy. I can remember as a little kid going to your house and playing on the front porch, and all the Christmas gatherings at grandma’s house. It is so hard to say goodbye but know that it is temporary for we will see you again one day. Love and miss you.
My dad was quite a character. He told the funniest stories and loved to embellish and entertain people. I would say he was a bit ornery as well. He loved his family. He coached us all through baseball and softball through the years and we went on many camping adventures together. He loved being with friends and family at the lake whether it was fishing, boating, fish fries or bbq. I loved him very much.
To my Papa, I was always “poodle.” He loved to tell stories about being a paratrooper in the army, growing up delivering ice and other odd jobs, running a successful investigation business, and about the different fights he got into over the years (somehow he was always the winner of those fights in his stories). He loved his family deeply. He kept us entertained by the many animals he befriended as he added a new feeder or pond here and there. He taught me to be curious, strong, and so much more. Papa left this earth after living a long life (almost made it to 90!) and got to see his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren multiply. I have peace in my heart because I know he is in Heaven, no longer suffering. He has always been a steady father-figure in my life and I admired his strength, especially towards the end when he was going through so much. Love you Papa.
