Oscar "Ray" Hamilton's Obituary
Oscar “Ray” Hamilton, a beloved husband, father, veteran, and pillar of the community, passed away on March 13, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 23, 1934, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Oscar Hamilton and Mary Jane Hamilton (Taylor).
Ray's life was a testament to his dedication to his country and his family. On July 9, 1960, he married the love of his life, Nancy Smith, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, and they shared a bond that lasted a lifetime.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Ray served with the 101st Airborne during the Korean conflict. His service was a source of great pride for him, and he carried the values of loyalty, honor, and duty with him throughout his life.
Ray was known for his outgoing nature and his ability to connect with anyone he met. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. A hard worker by nature, Ray along with Fred Aab owned and operated their own private investigator business, where their dedication and attention to detail earned them the respect of their peers and the gratitude of their clients.
Above all, Ray cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather. His presence brought warmth and joy to those around him, and his love knew no bounds.
Rest in peace, Ray. Your memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
Ray is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Julie Hughes, daughter Shirley & husband Randy Butler, daughter Lisa Bellmard & husband Larry, daughter Kathy Hamilton, granddaughter Lindsay and husband Nicolas, grandson Clint & wife Keri, grandchildren Nicholas, Liam, Lance, Christopher, Bradley, Bethany, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many other nephews, nieces, cousins and loved ones.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, son Stephen Hamilton, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother and brother-in-law.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Yale Avenue Christian Church (3616 S Yale Ave, Tulsa, OK 74135)
