It is hard to select just one memory after 17 years of friendship and business partner. So, I will share the qualities of Paul that many of you know so well. Paul’s sense of humor, timing and deliver were unmatched. Paul’s eyes would light up, that grin that alone would make you laugh and the recognizable voice would be followed by a great story that would have me laughing uncontrollably. It was the grin that usually started the ball rolling. Paul was a great law partner. Paul was extremely intelligent with a memory like an elephant. And if you ever needed to talk about the law, a case or a witness, Paul could rattle off the information. Paul was always ready to help and the life of any event. A memory that he and I discussed shortly before his retirement involved a horse race where he and dad were going to pick so many races and win a lot of money. Paul asked me to join and I told him with my limited knowledge I would pass. Paul shared how he picked horses: color of a car, a birthday, the name of the horse, etc. I knew at that point I was out and beside, “the jockey could fall off.” The next time I saw Paul he stated that he would never ask me to bet with him again. Why? Gary and I had won all the races and then in the last race the jockey fell of the horse. You would have thought I took the winnings right out of his pocket. It was always fun talking to Paul about gambling and horse racing because he always had a story to share. I will truly miss spending time with Paul. Paul, thank you for your friendship and all the great memories. I know you will have all our brothers and sisters in heaven entertained.
