Mr. Fritz was an incredible teacher and an inspiration to many including me. Thank you for your efforts Mr. Fritz.
It says a lot about a teacher when you still remember him 36-years-later. It really does. I can’t say I was the best student… so Mr. Fritz took it upon himself to find other ways to engage me to learn. If I didn’t do well on a test, he would let me design and do the artwork for a bulletin board, thus providing me with “extra credit” to help elevate my grade. It’s clear he cared deeply about his students and teaching. Once I moved away from Oklahoma, I lost touch with Mr. Fritz, especially after he left Jenks High School. That said, I always checked the internet if I could find out what he was up to. I’m saddened to learn of his passing, but know that his memory lives on in the lives of his family and students. God bless you, Mr. Fritz. A+, my friend.
I knew Paul in high school in Orofino, Idaho. I was in a number of classes with him, my favorite was working with him in the library as assistants. I truly enjoyed knowing Paul. Always wondered where he ended up in life and knew he would make the world a better place.
Mr. Fritz was a perfect example of a fantastic teacher. He always showed excitement & enthusiasm about his career and that spread to us, his lucky students. I enjoyed his classes so much, and smiled every year when I received his birthday wishes and a pack of gum! He was truly one-of-a-kind and will he missed.
I enjoyed reading all of the students comments about Paul’s teaching throughout the years. Paul left a wonderful legacy through his teaching at the high school level and with his church family. My prayers are with Aunt Rosella, Uncle Jim, Pete, and Donna at this time.
I worked with Paul at Montereau and he was one of the most genuine and fascinating people I have ever known. The comments of his former students are a fitting tribute to the impact he had on many lives. He will be missed by so many. I am saddened by his passing.
Thank you Mr. Fritz!! Your amazing class, dedication, and kind heartedness left a lasting impact. I learned to love history while sitting in your classroom and even got my bachelor’s degree in History from OU. You were a blessing to all your students!
Mr. Fritz was always that warm, jovial person who could instantly turn around a bad day into a good day. His jokes, enthusiasm, and love of teaching made him a favorite among his students. Deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
Of all the years I attended Jenks Schools, Mr. Fritz was the most memorable teacher and my all time favorite. I never liked history until I was in his class as he made learning history so much fun. That was the only class I looked forward to. I wonder if he knew how much he was loved and respected by his students? He certainly showed his love by keeping up with so many and sending out postcards and greeting cards. I hope he is looking down upon us with that great big smile on his face. Rest in peace, Mr. Fritz.
