Peggy Diane Burgess' Obituary
Peggy Burgess was born in Durant, Oklahoma on September 7, 1949 to Bill and Lorine Oliver. After spending a large part of her childhood in Venezuela, Peggy’s family moved to Longmont, Colorado. Peggy was in 8th grade when she met Stan Burgess. He decided to try and impress Peggy’s dad by mowing his yard. Stan and Peggy started going steady and graduated together from Longmont High School in 1967. Stan and Peggy were married on August 12, 1973. Peggy gave birth to Stacey in 1978 and Leslie in 1981. In 1989, the family moved to Oklahoma so Stan could work for Potter’s Sausage. They began attending Christview Christian Church where Peggy also taught preschool for many years. Peggy’s best skill was being a grandma, but she was also a talented writer, artist, and gamer. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nancy Moore, her husband Stanley Burgess, and her grandson Jace Burgess. She is survived by her daughter Stacey (Jeff) Rennison of Tulsa, OK; daughter Leslie (Chase) Bates of Jenks, OK; grandchildren Carlos Burgess, Kasandra Burgess, Daniel Burgess, Jacob Bates, Caleb Bates, and Colton Bates; great-grandson Thiago Bailon, sister Margaret Foster of Durant, Ok; and her brother Thomas Oliver (Dominique) of Owasso, OK.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am, Friday, July 14, 2023 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
