Quaye Lynn Berry's Obituary
Quaye Lynn Berry, 62, resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away November 12, 2020. Quaye was born September 21, 1958 in Tucson, Arizona to William and Carolyn Boykin. Quaye graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1976. She married her high school sweetheart, Doug Berry on September 3, 1976.
After high school she worked as a secretary for a local tax accountant before she became a homemaker while raising her children. She was a wonderful seamstress and used her skills to make many prom and bridesmaids dresses for family and friends over the years. She also used her sewing skills when she was a BA Pride Mom, as the uniform coordinator.
Later she worked for the regional directors of Allstate Insurance Company and then as an office assistant for a AAA agency in Tulsa. She eventually went to work for Hillcrest Healthcare Systems. She was a HR Executive Assistant for 13 years and 9 months.
When she wasn't working, Quaye was a faithful member of the Church at Battle Creek. She was a community group leader, decision counselor and a prayer team member as well as a dedicated member of the Singles ministry. Quaye’s heart was in missions and she served as a trip coordinator for an annual mission trip to Mexico for more than 20 years. She also loved serving as a mentor to teens through Epiphany at Radar. Quaye continued to support her husband’s mission as a volunteer with Insight Resources International.
In recent years, she traveled the world to visit family and experience God’s creation. Her favorite trips were to Okinawa, Japan, an Alaskan cruise, and several trips with her grandkids to DisneyWorld.
Quaye was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Quaye was preceded in passing by her spouse, Douglas Wayne Berry. She is survived by her parents, William Franklin Boykin Sr. and Carolyn Bell Boykin (Crater); daughter, Annette Breedlove and her husband, Jacob; son, David Berry and his wife, Michelle; son, Staff Sgt. Jonathan Berry and his wife, Kelsey; grandchildren, Tyler Breedlove, Ryleigh Berry, Brody Berry, Tucker Breedlove, Madalynn Breedlove, Rebekah Breedlove, Everly Berry, Brynlee Berry, Andrew Breedlove, Everett Berry and Titus Breedlove; her brother, Bill Boykin Jr. and his wife, Toni and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be 3-5 pm, Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Monday, November 23, 2020 at Battle Creek Church in Broken Arrow.
