Rachel Henry Cochrane's Obituary
“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” (Psalms 116:15 KJV)Rachel, a full blooded Native American and member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lordon June 19th, 2018 in Slidell, LA. She was 90 years old. Rachel was born to her parents Jess Henry and Betsy Little Captain Henry on October 26th, 1927 in Claremore, Oklahoma.Rachel was active in her local church while health permitted. She attended the Chilocco Indian Boarding Academy during her teen years until 1945. She had a long career in aviation electronics, retiring from McDonnell Douglas in Tulsa, OK. Afterward, she volunteered for many years at Alzheimer’s Angels in Slidell.Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Eddie, her sister Virginia, her son Alan Keith Cochrane, and one grand daughter Linda Sue Cochrane.Rachel is survived by her daughter Joyce and Scott Galyon of the home; her son Arthur and Elizabeth Cochrane of Eufaula, OK; two grand-daughters Sarah and Matthew Moore and Rebecca and Shad Walker; two great grand-children Brooklynn Moore and Brantley Walker; and her son Guy Cochrane.She will be greatly missed.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rachel’s name and honor to the Alzhiemer’s Association.A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:30 P.M., Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
