Rajat Kaul's Obituary
Dr. Rajat Kaul lost his valiant battle with pancreatic cancer on October 29, 2022. He left us with a legacy of strength and courage. Rajat was born in India on November 12, 1957, attended Sherwood College, graduated from the elite AIIMS medical school in India, and spent the past 25 years dedicated to the practice of Nephrology in Tulsa, Oklahoma as part of Nephrology Specialists of Oklahoma. Among his many other professional activities, he also served on the Life Share Board for several years and was an ardent supporter of kidney transplant programs. He was loved by his patients and highly regarded by his colleagues and his peers.
Rajat was an avid hiker, incredibly passionate about travel – really an explorer at heart. He would either be found planning a trip to some remote part of the world or reminiscing about the peculiar adventures of his many prior travels. He was a man with varied interests, bonding with friends over table tennis, long bike rides, and committed to passing on his love of skiing to his children. He loved listening to podcasts and music with great enthusiasm. Rajat was a man of great intellect and curiosity, with an insatiable appetite for learning. He was an analytical thinker and a practical problem solver. You could always count on him to provide an alternate point of view with his prodigious knowledge to back his arguments. His discussions with friends and family on matters of politics, economy, and social issues could invariably get animated. But any disagreement was never a reason for resentment, because Rajat was always generous at heart. Above all, Rajat was a kind and caring man, of paramount dignity, bearing and grace. All of which shone through to his last breath.
He is survived by his wife Manju, his loving children Arnav and Riya. His sister Rashmani Sheopori and brother Sushant Kaul, and a large extended family in India. A celebration of life memorial will be held at Floral Haven funeral home on November 3rd, Thursday, 3 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Life Share, transplant Donor services of Oklahoma: https://www.lifeshareoklahoma.org
