I am so sorry for your loss. May the many happy memories you shared together be of some comfort to you in the days ahead. And may you find hope in God’s promise to soon undo ‘all tears, mourning, pain and even death’ (Rev. 21:4). Please know that you are in my thoughts and in my prayers.
Randy Schmitz was my friend. I had the opportunity to meet Randy during his first bout with cancer as he joined a men’s discipleship group call The Journey, that I was a part of. Randy was looking closely at his faith and was asking questions and reflecting on the truth of The Gospel during that time. All of us in the group were privileged to watch him grow in his faith and his commitment to live it out in this world. He was a great listener, he was humble, he was inquiring, and he really dug in to learn and to know. We all watched with admiration as this awful disease came back two more times. Every time I was with him he had a peace that was comforting and up-lifting. I believe his peace came from his personal relationship with Christ, who he has now been united with in heaven. Randy Schmitz was my friend and I look forward to a heavenly reunion someday.
Twana, all of us guys are here for you and your sons anytime you need us. May you feel the abundant love of Christ during this difficult time. Love, Jim
