Having the pleasure of first meeting Rick 14 years ago through work we became good friends. Upon a number of visits back To Tulsa over the years Rick always made the time so we could meet up and he would take me to visit places of interest and proudly inform me all about Tulsa and the surrounding area. Rest in peace dear friend. Mark. (United Kingdom)
Rick was such a great man. I worked with him for many years at Nordam and McKissick. I will miss your smiling face and positive attitude!! Just found out today, so sorry I missed your celebration today!!! Susie Blackketter-Snow
We all have fond memories of Rick. I want to share a tad bit of some of my most precious ones now. For anyone who doesn't know me Rick was my grandpa. Growing up I spent a lot of weekends with my grandparents. The weekend consisted of spending most of the day Saturday with grandma while grandpa put in extra hours in at work. If it was nice outside he would stay home and we would go to garage sells. I loved Saturday nights. They consisted of root beer floats, popcorn, and watching TV. When it was time to start getting ready for bed after bath time grandpa would brush and blow dry our hair for us so we didn't go to bed with a wet head. As I got older we watched TV less and talked about life and his travels more. Sometimes, well actually quite often, after lunch on Sunday we would drive and look at the planes. This consisted of us taking the long route to a small airport that I'm still unsure the name and driving by the planes.Grandpa would point to different planes and tells us about them. The thing was the planes never changed it was always the same ones. Now some may think wow that's pretty dull but think of it from a child's perspective. It was actually quite awesome. I was telling my grandma awhile back how it's been a long time since I have went and seen the planes and that I would like to soon. She told me, â??it may have been a while for you but hasn't been for your grandpa. He still drives by there quite often and looks at themâ?. We of course cracked a joke about how they are still the same old planes and he is still the same old man. Overall my grandpa was a hard working dependable guy. He was always doing something with music or taking pictures. He came to all of my band concerts and birthdays(again normally taking all the pictures). He loved to challenge me and call me a boy. I am proud of the man he was and thankful that he was put in my life. He definitely made it more bright and musical.
I've known Rick for some twenty plus years and raised me as a Deacon. Served with him for five years and valued his advice and love of God. I'll miss him.
Rick was always great to work with and an even better friend to have. I will always miss seeing Rick run around Nordam with his coffee cup sloshing coffee on drawings. Rest in peace Rick you will be missed more than you can ever imagine.
Rick Disney was a great co worker, great friend, great neighbor. I loved him and I know he loved me too. He loved everybody. I will miss him . Larry Robinson
I enjoyed working with you at NORDAM. You were always so kind to me and willing to help whenever I needed it. Though we lost contact after I left, you truly left an impression on my life. You will be forever missed.
