Dr. Richard W Couch, 83, of Tulsa passed away November 6, 2020. He was born on March 30, 1937 in Pryor, OK to Wes & Ola Couch. Richard held a PhD in Biology and was a graduate of Oklahoma State University, University of Tennessee Read Obituary
Richard was a great guy, he always made me laugh. We both worked at Oral Roberts University in different departments, and I would try to stop in and visit with him everyday if possible. He will be truly missed by me and a lot of other people who were fortune enough to have known him. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I have wonderful memories of my Uncle Richard. When they lived in Athens, Alabama, I spent many summers visiting Richard, Aunt Jane, Juli, and Cathy. It was always a barrel of laughs. He was a quiet man, who had a great sense of humor. He taught me the importance of a college education. I loved hearing his lectures at Athens College. He was a passionate teacher who loved his students. He was doing experiments on how to kill weeds that grew in the Mississippi River. He had large containers filled with plants that were floating in water. He was sharing with me what he was attempting to do. I told him the plants looked great. His reply was, "That means my experiment needs some work.." Rest in peace, sweet Richard.
Rhonda Mitchell DeLozier
I visited with Jane and Richard several times when I was a young teen. I to exposed to so many things I'd never done before; beekeeping, flying airplanes, going to college-level classes, photography including darkroom operation, picking peaches, catfish farming and putting a new engine in their 1961 Rambler station wagon that dropped a cylinder on a drive out to Oklahoma from Athens, Alabama. Richard bought the new engine from Ft. Smith Arkansas and we put it in a garage across the highway from his parent's house. I took my first airplane ride on United Airlines to visit and there sure have been plenty of rides since then. I found out what a Volkswagon was all about and purchased several during my lifetime. Nothing but good memories when I think of Richard Wesley Couch, RIP.
