Richard Martin Hader's Obituary
Richard Martin Hader passed away November 1, 2017 at the age of 59. He was born on March 31, 1958 in Evanston, Illinois to Arthur E. Hader Jr. & the late Joan (Enright) Hader, and raised in Park Ridge, Illinois. Rick was a natural born coach/teacher/entertainer, and throughout his life he constantly motivated others to work harder so that they could also achieve their own life goals. His true passion, though, was for his daily family life, where simple things like mundane trips to the grocery store could, oftentimes, become fantastic comic adventures. Especially around the Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays. Rick loved the holidays. Whenever he encountered a grumpy stranger in public, for instance, he had a genius-level way of instantly winning the person over with a few words and actions. The truth of the matter was this – you could not help but laugh when Rick was in a room and he had you in his sights, and was working to win you over.Rick also had fervor for discovering new and interesting friends. When you were one of Rick’s pals, he would treat you as if you were his best friend, better yet, as family. You knew Rick had fondness for you when he gave you a nickname. He never called his wife, Kim, by her given name. Around the house, she was affectionately known as “Monkey.” He lovingly nicknamed each one of his siblings “Lumpy,” which he acquired from a goofy character portrayed on the old Leave It To Beaver television program (Lumpy Rutherford). If Rick called you “Lumpy,” you had successfully landed among his inner circle. And once you were in his good graces, there you would stay.Every daily choice Rick Hader made in life was done for the betterment of his wonderful family, and to look after his lovely wife, children, and grandchildren, who will all miss him so very much.Rick is survived by Kim, his wife of 12 years, as well as his three children, Amanda Katomski (Sam), Madison Suppes, and Ethan Suppes (Becca). He was the adoring “Bumpa” to his beautiful grandchildren Gabe, and Ellie. Rick is also survived by his father Arthur, and siblings, Art (Gloria), John (Lisa), Bill, Dan (Donna), Melissa Everhart (Wes), Matt (Lori), and Andrew (Susan) – as well as many nieces & nephews, and, of course, his many, many friends.Memorial Celebration will be Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Destiny Church, 1700 South Aspen Ave, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012.In lieu of flowers the Hader family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
