I met Dick when he was about 20 and he became the brother I wish I had. What a kind, caring individual who loved his family, treasured his daughter, Rebecca, and thought the sun rose in Barbara. He was so talented in photography and woodworking....winning awards and awesome creations. I'll remember him as always making people feel good about themselves, cracking little jokes and genuinely loving life. This world will be a darker place because he is gone. Rest in Peace Brother....Love you.

"To know him was to love and adore him" (from the obituary) perfectly describes Dick. I've known him since he was 18, when he became the brother I always wished I had.
Dick was so talented in so many ways, especially his photography and woodworking skills, winning numerous awards in photography, and recreating from the Ethan Allen line of furniture with preciseness and beauty.
As a father, he was loving and dedicated to Rebecca. As a husband to Barbara, he thought the sun rose and set with her. His heart was caring and kind to anyone he met...always that sweet smile and those funny comebacks.
We haven't lost Dick .... I know exactly where he is. I know he's looking down and comforting his family now, telling them he's well, happy and preparing a place for all of us. I loved Dick Shuck and the world is a much darker place without his sweetness. Rest in Peace my friend! I will think of you every day and will miss you.
With step-granddaughters Rachel and Katherine last weekend. So glad they got to see him one last time. 💔
