I will miss Rick, but I imagine he is, at this moment, enjoying the beauty and solitude of the great outdoors. Rick was well-respected and well-liked by his students. One particular memory was of Rick teaching a class for English as a Second Language students. He was showing them how to use Microsoft Word, and taught them how to make flyers, etc. He did this by making up an ad for a used car, and even found a picture on the internet to add to his flyer; he included the tear off phone numbers that you often see posted on bulletin boards. He printed the ad and posted it in his classroom for his students to see. A few days later, he started getting calls about a used car, and was quite confused. It took several phone calls later before he realized someone thought the ad posted in his classroom was real! We all had a good laugh about that one! Many memories of Rick talking about his family…he was so proud of Jenny, Chris and his grandkids. Thoughts and prayers for all…
Rick was such a great man. He helped guide me at work and I miss that. There are times I want to call and say, "Help Rick!" I know he would have. He was our protector and friend. He is missed!
It was a sheer pleasure to have known and worked with Rick. Forever remembered, Forever missed. – Shelly Norvell
Rick was one if a kind, and I will miss him always! I loved his wit, intelligence, and dedication. A wonderful friend, gone too soon!
