Ricky Dan Burgin's Obituary
Ricky Dan Burgin, age 58, passed away on January 4, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Rick was born on July 17, 1957 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to his parents Dan and Betty Burgin. Rick received his general education from Wewoka Public Schools before his attendance at University of Oklahoma, University of Central Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University. He earned a bachelors of science in community health and a masters in occupational and adult education. After his graduation Rick began a career as an adult education teacher with Casper College. Rick retired in 2015 after 17 years of diligent service. He proudly served with the U.S. Army from 1978 to 1992 earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. Rick was a loving father and grandfather who cherished his family and the outdoors. He was especially proud of summiting cloud peak mountain. Rick is survived by his son Christopher Burgin (Melody), his daughter Jennifer Kelley (Marcus), his grandson Jermaine Kelley, his granddaughter Donna Burgin, his granddaughter Jordyn Kelley, his grandson Christopher Burgin Jr., his uncle Bob Tucker (Johnnie), his cousin Kelly Morrow, his cousin Keith Tucker, and best friend Emma Matthews. Services will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at 10:00 am on Friday, January 8, 2016.
