Robert "Bob" Howard Adams' Obituary
Robert H. Adams, known affectionately as Bob, entered the gates of Heaven on Friday, May 2, 2025 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 85. He was born on January 11, 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William "Bill" Harold Adams and Alice Elizabeth (Grant) Adams. He graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1958. He soon thereafter married Kay Protzman, also a Will Rogers Roper, and together they raised their three children in the Tulsa - Broken Arrow area.
Bob was employed with the Tulsa Fire Department beginning in January of 1962, and retiring in 1995, after 33 years of dedicated service to this community. He held various positions as a firefighter, including driver and training officer at the drill tower. He worked at many stations around the City of Tulsa, and retired having attained the rank of Captain. Bob loved anything sports-related - baseball, football, and basketball. He also thoroughly enjoyed many trips to Disneyland in Southern California, and Silver Dollar City in Branson. His favorite music group was the Bee Gees that he rocked out to as he drove his Ford pickup around town!
Bob regularly attended church services over the last 15 years at Arrow Heights Baptist in Broken Arrow, where he heard and more importantly accepted and believed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, his only sister Kay Hammons, and nieces Beth Hammons and Sarah Adams.
Left to cherish his memory, he is survived by his wife of 66 years, Kay Adams of Broken Arrow; daughter Lori Sutton and husband Stephen of Broken Arrow; sons Bill Adams and wife Michelle of Tulsa and Scott Adams of Broken Arrow; grandchildren Natalie (Sutton) Stewart and husband Daniel of Broken Arrow, Sydney (Sutton) Boothe and husband Stephen of Choctaw, Abigail (Adams) Sanders and husband Landon of Elk City, and Grant Adams of Tulsa; great grandchildren Levi Robert Boothe, Karston D. Sanders, Grayson J. Stewart, and Beckett C. Sanders; brothers Buddy Adams of Tulsa and Roger Adams and wife Jan of Tulsa; along with other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
The Adams Family extends their deepest, most heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Baptist Village Broken Arrow who lovingly helped us care for Bob over the last 13 months. Also, to a Path of Care Hospice workers who came alongside in our time of need.
