Henry, Robert A's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and love that our family announces the passing of Robert Aaron Henry, who departed this life on Friday, June 27, 2025 at the age of 79 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Born on November 17, 1945 in Broken Arrow, OK, Robert was the youngest son of Jesse Amos Henry and Audie Veda (Dunn) Henry. He grew up in Broken Arrow, OK and graduated from Bixby High School in 1965.
Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force, including a tour of duty during the Vietnam War, where he demonstrated unwavering courage and commitment to his country, ultimately earning the rank of Sergeant. He later worked for Tulsa County, but spent most of his career with Oklahoma Natural Gas—an organization he affectionately referred to as “the gas company.”
More than anything, Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor, strong work ethic, and deep devotion to his family. He touched the lives of everyone he met with his warm smile and endless stories. As a father, he was wholeheartedly committed to his two sons, spending countless hours at soccer games, football games, baseball games, wrestling tournaments, track meets—and every practice in between. He loved everything “OU” including many years of traveling to Norman for home football games. In retirement, he found great joy in fishing and taking frequent trips to the local casinos with his wife of nearly 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Henry; and his sister, Vera Colbert; his sons, Tony Henry and Craig Henry; and his stepson, Jeremy Chisum. He leaves behind three grandsons: Jaden Henry, Dillan Henry, and Ryan Chisum, and three granddaughters: Berkley Henry, Juliet Chisum, and Briana Chisum, who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings: brothers Onis Henry, Jesse Lee Henry, Melvin Roy Henry, Glen Dale Henry, and Wayne Henry, and sisters Wilma Foster, Mary Chance, Frances Douglas, and Vivian Bell.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 02, 2025 at 10:00 am at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
