Met Mike when we were 9. Moved in a couple of houses away. We were best friends until they moved.
Lost contact,. All of us neighborhood kids had a reunion around 1982 or so. Lost contact again. Years later on Nov 06, I remembered it was his birthday. Looked him up and called. He was surprised I remembered. I said it was hard to forget. You grumbled every year about it. It put him 3 days over the line for entering school. He was always a year behind us.
Cracked him up when I reminded him.
Tried to do my call this year, number disconnected. So, I googled him and found this
So, so sorry for his families loss. He was a truly good person. The world needs more like him.
It was an honor to have you as my best friend when we were kids. And talking to you on your birthday & when you called me on mine.
At least I know you are in a better place.
Kinda funny how, as believers in Christ, we know where we are going when we leave this world and how much better it will be. Yet, we aren't in a hurry to get there.
As a cancer survivor and losing a daughter to it, I understand what his family has gone through. Prayers for all of you.
