Joyce Evans' Obituary
Roberta Joyce Evans of Tulsa passed away Saturday, November 6th at her residence surrounded by her family in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Born June 26,1930 in Oklahoma City to Robert James and Jessie Rife McRell. Long time member of First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Joyce and her husband “Bud” served as faithful coordinators of the Oasis Sunday School Class. Joyce enjoyed serving on the support group of the Baptist Retirement Baptist Villages of Broken Arrow as well as a member of “Women of Compassion” for the Baptist Children Homes of Oklahoma.
Joyce was a charter member of “Women of the South” organization in Oklahoma City and Member of “Women of Vision” for Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and dedicated many hours to these groups.
Joyce , along with her husband, co founded Evans Enterprises, and served on the Board of Directors for many years. Corporate offices, for Evans Enterprises, are located in Norman, Oklahoma.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Robert James and Jessie Rife Mcrell and 2 sisters, Dorothy Jean Mcrell and Jeri Been . Joyce is survived by her husband, Charles “Bud” of the home and 2 daughters, Sylynda Joyce Thrash and husband Rusty of Tulsa Oklahoma and Elyce Campbell of Oklahoma City. She has 5 grand children and 7 great grand children.
In celebration of her life and what she has meant to us and countless others, visitation will be held on Friday, November 12th from 4-6 pm at First Baptist Church Broken Arrow. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 13th at 2pm at First Baptist Church, 100 West Albany Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012
