Roland Andrew Cole's Obituary
Roland Andrew “Buddy” Cole, 75, passed away on December 31, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Buddy was born on February 25, 1941 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Walter & Helen (Anderson) Cole. Buddy grew up in Bartlesville and moved to Tulsa as a young man to work for Air-X-Changers. Later he owned his own auto mechanic shop where he worked for many years fixing cars as only he could. He had a passion for helping people and he loved his family and friends. He attended Parkland Baptist Church for many years and served in many different capacities. Buddy loved the Lord and gladly served Him when he was able and he had a love for Southern Gospel Music.Buddy loved animals, especially dogs. Bear was his faithful companion of many years and more recently he had Taylor. He loved cars and had a knack for being able to fix just about anything that could go wrong with them. He could actually fix just about anything and loved doing it. He was always willing to lift a helping hand to anyone in need. He was always trying to find a way to run a garage from the nursing home. He had a fondness of food and he loved to grill with his special secret recipes. He never turned down ribs, fried chicken, chicken wings, or turkey legs. And we can’t forget his love for Diet Dr. Pepper or that Walker Texas Ranger was his hero, hence, the song the family walked in to.Most importantly, Buddy loved his family, from the youngest to the oldest. He was a family man who always did whatever he needed to do to provide for them. He had a work ethic that is not to be matched. He instilled Christian values to all who knew him. He had a huge, loving heart and he was quick to forgive and genuinely loved people.Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen, his step-mother Rosie, and his son Brian Cole.He is survived by ex-wife Betty Cole Langston, mother of their daughters, Mrs. Tammy Frisbie (Jerry) of New York, and Mrs. Robin Canton (Chris) of Tulsa; siblings, Edward Cole of Lake Keystone, and Mrs. Joanne Flynn (Wayne) of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Andrew Frisbie, Ashley Hailey, Amber Frisbie, Samantha Hailey, Brandon Canton, Bradley Cole, and Connor Cole; five precious great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews & cousins, and special friend Alyce Shuport.A special thank you to Coweta Manor, where he lived the past 18 months. Also, to Wayne & Joann Flynn, and Chris & Robin Canton for overseeing his care.Roland “Buddy” Cole will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Memorial Services will be 3:00 pm Friday, January 6, 2017, Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
