Ronald Lee Ankney's Obituary
Ronald Lee Ankney, age 69, passed away on January 29, 2014 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Ronald was born on March 31, 1944 in San Francisco, California to his parents, Pauline and Virgil Ankney. He was the 1st child born out of 5. Ronald went on to survive with the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1967 during Vietnam War. He obtained the ranking of Sergeant and also received his GED diploma during his service. After his service, he went on to work as a HAMM Operator and he worked with General Motors, but ultimately, he chose a career as Technical Crew Chief working for American Airlines. Ronald married Helen D. Galloway on August 18, 1997 at Fort Smith, Arkansas which they shared 16 years together. He retired in 2008 from American Airlines after 38 years, after which, he began enjoying the fun things in life: camping, fishing, and spending time with family. Ronald had Jesus in his heart and he had the Lord as his savior. Ronald is survived by his wife, Helen D. Ankney, his four sons, Robert John Ankney, Michael L. Ankney, Chris Ankney, and Mathew Ankney, his grandchildren, Christina Johnson, Kim Johnson, Andrew Morgan, Caseton Ankney, Kay Lena, K.K. Johnson, his step son, Gordon Gump, and his step daughter, Darlene Gump. Ronald is survived by many special friends, Shane, Cliff, Kevin, Ken and Kathy, Orvin, Resia, Carl, and Carol, also including many friends at American Airlines which are too numerous to mention. Ron was one in a million and there will never be another like him.
