Rosemary West's Obituary
Rosemary (Harder) West was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 19, 1941. Her parents were Herbert (Shorty) and Frances (Toots) Harder. She attended Tulsa Public Schools and graduated in 1959 from Central High School. In August of 1959, she met the love of her life, Robert (Bobby) West. They were married on March 18, 1960. Rosy (a very fitting name) loved life and always put a smile on anyone’s face with whom she came in contact with. She had an infectious laugh and a quick wit. She always used humor to diffuse any situation, no matter how dire. She never met a stranger. Rosy loved music, especially Elvis, it would be blaring through the house on any given day. She loved to sing, even though she couldn’t carry a tune. We would tease her, especially when she sang “Delta Dawn”. She also loved sports, especially OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys football. Rosy had a way of getting things done. She was a master of delegation. When you heard the words “I Love You Darlin”, you knew there was some work that she wanted to get done. Her pride and joy, were her children, Jody and Mike. Her unconditional love was unwavering. Her family grew to 8 grandchildren, then to 13 great grandchildren. Mema and Papa’s house is the place to be, even the dogs go down to their house. It is a safe place, full of love, fun, and laughter. All are welcome there. But her greatest love of all is her husband Robert (Bobby). 56 wonderful years together. You didn’t get one without the other. They truly were soul mates and completed each other. They were always together. In 1962, they moved to Catoosa and bought a house and 2 acres. It later grew to 27 acres, known as the West Compound. They started milking cows in 1976, and had established a Grade A Dairy. Animals of all kinds were part of the West Compound, cows, horses, goats, peacocks, chickens, pigs, bee hives and many dogs and cats. They worked together for years at X-ray Manufacturing & Supply, and XIT, Inc. They loved to fish, go camping, and watching all the grandbabies and then the great grandbabies. The memories they have created together are boundless. Sonny and Cher had the best song that was fitting for their relationship. “I Got You Babe”. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Harder and Frances (English) Harder, and grandson-in law Roger Clark. She is survived by her husband Robert West. Sister JoAnn Porter. Daughter, Jo-Evelyn (Jody) Wills and husband Dale. Son, Michael Eugene West and wife Carol. Granddaughters, Jennifer Clark, Kim Wills, Jessica Smith and husband Josh. Grandsons, Jared Landburg and wife Shelby, Joseph West and wife Paige, Kyle West and wife Amber, Andrew West, Christopher Wills and wife Gina. Thirteen great grandchildren, Madison West, Jayden Wilson, Braxton Landburg, Mileigh West, Evie Clark, Isabella West, Piper Landburg, Mark Miller, Lily Smith, Acelynn Thiessel, Draygan Thiessel, Jacob Wills, Zelma Wills. Numerous special nieces and nephews. Rosemary was truly one of a kind, loved by all and will be greatly missed! A celebration of her life will be planned at a future date.
