Roy G. Cartwright's Obituary
Roy Garland Cartwright, January 17, 1934 – July 8, 2017; beloved as husband, father and business executive. Excelled in athletics, business, and prominent in banking/finance. Named as All-Conference football, basketball, and baseball player in 1951 at Skiatook Oklahoma high school. Voted as 1951 football lineman of the year in the State of Oklahoma at Skiatook, Oklahoma high school. Awarded football scholarship to the University of Oklahoma and member of the 1952, 1953, and 1954 championship team. President of the University of Oklahoma National Alumni Association. President of Guaranty National Bank and Union National Bank in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Current Trustee of The Larkin Bailey Foundation in Tulsa, Oklahoma and former Trustee of The Will Rogers Foundation in Claremore, Oklahoma. Member of numerous business, social, and community organizations. He now resides in the heavenly kingdom along with God the father, our lord and savior Jesus Christ, and his lovely wife Mary Lue Cartwright. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Lou Cartwright; his loving parents, Garland & L. Marie Cartwright. He is survived by his daughter, Gayla Cartwright-Braker and sons, Drew Scott Cartwright and Roy Keith Cartwright. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 3:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Chapel with a graveside service to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
