My uncle Roy always seemed to have a boat at all of the Henderson clan get-togethers at the lake. I’m pretty sure I first learned to water ski being pulled by uncle Roy. I also remember one memorable fishing trip that just he and I went on to Lake Tenkiller. That was the first time I had ever visited that beautiful lake. It is my favorite Oklahoma lake to this day. Uncle Roy also introduced me to small mouth bass fishing on that trip. One final memory I wanted to share had to do with cars. Whenever we would gather at grandma Henderson’s house in the early 1960’s it seems one of the uncles would have a brand new car to show off. I was like a kid in a candy store with all the steel and chrome on these beautiful cars. Uncle Bert was a Cadillac man, Royal was Chryslers, my dad (Dick) a Buick man and if my memory serves me uncle Roy was either a Pontiac or Oldsmobile man. Kyle will know. Precious memories . . . How they linger. Uncle Roy, “I’ll meet you in the morning” in the arms of Jesus. Phil Robins
