I was a Boy Scout of Troop 7, BSA at Germantown Boys' Club in Philadelphia when I met Rudy in 1958
He was a bit older than I was. Also in oir troop were Jimmy Jeffries, Joe Kendra and a bunch more
I can see their faces. But I h cannot remember .any names. Mr. Charles Gottsabend was our Scoutmaster. Troop 7 was one of the oldest troops in Philadelphia. Those were some great times and great people

Troop 7 had a meeting g room on the third floor of the Germa town Boys' Club at 25 W. Penn Street. We had great times hiking the Wissahickon, camping, swimming at the club. Ahhh, those were the days. Rudy was a great scout leader and a very nice guy. Sorry to say, I lost contact with Rudy after starting college at West Chester State. But I will always treasure the great times with Rudy and Troop 7.

Rudy will live on in the lives he touched. Rudy was one of the first USJCC staff officers I met. He taught the Shooting Education State Program Managers, and I was one of the participants. As years passed, Rudy encouraged me to move to Tulsa and take a position on the Jaycees staff. I followed Rudy as the national program manager for Shooting Education.
I remember Rudy's sardonic wit and ready laugh. His legacy lives on!

I always think of Dad when I see a teddy bear. Dad always would make my bears talk when I was little. Ruffles was my favorite bear, and Dad helped me have wonderful conversations with him, while I was growing up. Dad always tried to make my childhood magical.

Rudy was a longtime friend and he convinced me to apply for a staff officer position with the U.S. Jaycees Headquarters in 1981. I moved my wife and son from New Hampshire to Tulsa, Oklahoma which changed my life forever. I learned how to be a meeting and convention planner which I have done for the past 44 years, including my own business for 27 years in Dallas, Texas. I always enjoyed being with Rudy, especially during his time in Dallas. I have missed being with him since he moved from Dallas to Tulsa. Fortunately, I drove to Tulsa and had a nice visit with him about a year and a half ago. I will never forget my dear friend Rudy. May he Rest in Peace in God's heavenly kingdom 🙏
