Sandra Sue Hanna's Obituary
Sandra Sue Hanna Obituary
Sandy was born June 7, 1946 to John Sanford Hickman and Nettie Bernice Hickman in Moberly, Missouri. Early in her life, her family moved around quite a bit before settling in Fredericktown, Missouri. As a much loved only child, some cautioned her parents not to spoil her, but Dad Hickman always responded, “You can’t spoil them with love.”
Sandy attended and graduated from Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri in May of 1968. She married Charles Allen Hanna in August of the same year. She taught first grade in Missouri for four years and later in life an additional 28 years in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She formed strong and lasting relationships with many of her first-grade students that remain to this day.
Her greatest gift and achievement was the birth of her son, John Charles Hanna in May of 1972. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Charles, her grandchildren Katelin, Kelly, Kaden, Karson, and her great-grandchildren Kylar and Kynzlee. She has three living cousins, Mark Kitch, Marsha Urton, and Kathy Archibald, but in truth, she is surrounded by extended family derived from our son-in-law whom she deeply loves. Lastly, she is survived by her closest friends whom she called and considers her sisters: Carol Thayer, Mary Ann Hastings, Patti Perisho, and Debbie Greer.
Her life was filled with love, happiness, and purpose. The last few years of her life were lived at Trinity Woods in Tulsa where she has made amazing friends and derived much comfort.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 20, 2023, at Trinity Woods Filming Center, Tulsa
