Sarah Lou Brown's Obituary
Sarah (Sue) Lou Willyard Brown, 80, born October 21, 1933, passed away August 13, 2014. This generous, active lady was preceded in death by her parents John and Nokie Willyard, brothers Dub and Ray Willyard, sisters Juanita Merritt and Wanda Blakemore, and grandson Michael Brown. She is survived by her son Terry Brown and his wife Nancy, granddaughters Emily and husband Daniel Reeves, Kathleen and husband Russell Nance, and Terry Marie Brown, and grandson Jeff and wife Mollie Brown, along with the next generation, her great-grandchildren Amadeaus, Elyssa, Xavier, Grayson, Annalee and River Reeves, Avery, Dex and Sara Nance, and Adam Brown. Also left to grieve her loss are her brothers Charles and wife Peggy Willyard and Tommy Willyard, sisters Norma Ledesma, Leona Woods, and Kay and husband Jackie Foreman. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews to remember with love the good times they shared with her at family reunions, get-togethers and vacations.Sue retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 33 years, during which time she made many friends, several with whom she would remain friends for life, especially Gay Champion, Mary Hamilton, and Maxine Stewart, who preceded Sue in death and was Terry’s godmother with her husband Tommy as godfather. After retirement, Sue continued to meet with her telephone friends as a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Along the way, she met Pat Anson, with whom she would also remain close friends.One of Sue’s great loves was traveling…by car, bus, plane or boat…and she did so extensively. She combined her love of traveling and making friends by becoming a tour guide for Jefferson Tours and later Safari Travel.Sue opened her home to everyone and often shared her home with family and friends as they transitioned from one home to another or just needed a place to stay. She was deeply loved and will be greatly loved and missed.
