Sharlyon Rhoades' Obituary
Sharlyon Kay Rhoades, "Shar" age 78, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025. She was born in Bethany, Missouri, and lived a life dedicated to her faith, family, and service to the Body of Christ.
She graduated from Northwest Missouri State College with an accounting degree. She worked for the State of Missouri for many years and then transitioned into working for a local Chiropractic office where she retired in 2020.
Shar was a devoted member of Ridge Christian Church in Broken Arrow, OK where she was passionate about her relationship with God. She actively participated in the Celebrate Recovery Program, providing guidance, sponsorship and sharing her testimony with her CR family, along with female inmates in the Women's Jail Ministry which she was involved with, offering them hope, healing as her testimony showed them a new way of life.
Her unwavering faith and generosity left a lasting impact on those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dora Mae Gump Davis and Harley Davis. Shar is survived by her son, Ned L. Rhoades Jr.; daughter, Marjorie A. Moore (husband Richard); Glenn Rhoades and several grandchildren that she adored, David Rhoades, Amber Ramey, Kannin Rider, Serena Rhoades, Taylor Belmares, Dillon Rhoades, and Ashton Rhoades; as well as her great-grandchildren, Lennox Rhoades, Rubie Ray Rhoades, Maverick Rider, and Scarlett Belmares. She also had several close friends who adored her.
A celebration of life will take place at Ridge Christian Church at 4010 W New Orleans St. Broken Arrow, OK 74011 at 4:00 pm on Friday July 18th with fellowship to follow.
Flowers may be sent to the church or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Shar to the local Celebrate Recovery Program.
