Shera Miner's Obituary
Shera June Miner, 54, of Broken Arrow, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 in Tulsa after a 3.5 year fight with cancer. Shera was born December 20, 1966 in Los Gatos, CA to Hoshang S. and Mary Ann F. Lala and lived in San Jose at 254 Whirlaway Dr. until age 18. During that time she attended Oak Grove High School and San Jose City College. She moved to Tulsa, OK to attend Oral Roberts University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 1989. She graduated from The University of Oklahoma where she earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work in 1995. She was licensed in the State of Oklahoma as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and worked for the Saint Francis Health System for more than 30 years. While working at Saint Francis Hospital, she met Bob Miner and was married in October, 1995. Shera was a devout baptized believer in Jesus Christ and a long-time member of The Park Church of Christ. She enjoyed many activities including family and church gatherings, ladies bible studies and luncheons and bunko parties, motorcycling, bicycling, boating, skiing, hiking, picnicking. She was known for being a wonderful wife, the ultimate super-mom and a great caregiver for her parents. She loved being physically active and was genuinely concerned and helpful with tough personal and social situations.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers Darius and Phillip Lala. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert Miner; 2 sons Joshua Tackett and Benjamin Miner; 1 daughter, Rachel Miner; 2 step-sons Caleb and Aaron Miner whom she loved and treated as her own.
A reception will be held from 4pm - 6 pm on Friday, April 30 at the Floral Haven Family Center.
A memorial service to celebrate Shera’s life will be Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at The Park Church of Christ in Tulsa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to The Park Church of Christ (for benevolence) or to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
