I knew Steve from Cancer Treatment Center. He was a faithful volunteer for many years, which we workers appreciated so much. Unbeknownst to us being in the same 5K in south Tulsa, we crossed the finish line at Hunter Park at the same time. Finding a common thread running in 5Ks, I remember hearing stories of his trip to Ireland his daughter to run a race together. It was so sweet! He was a proud daddy!! I remember Steve’s amazing mushroom salad he always brought to pot lucks! I still have the recipe in my recipe box! I didn’t know Steve well but we did share stories & I know he loved his family. I just learned today of his passing and it makes me very sad. I’ve been away from CTCA for several years now. But these are things that I do remember. I’m so sorry & my prayers go out to you.

Steve was a powerful force in my life during our time at TU. As a Brother in Lambda Chi Alpha, we may have been able to "let our hair down" ( it was longer then) but he always was the model of what we were trying to be as members - academically and socially.

As a member of the TU Modern Choir, he paired with Donna in a number of acts and left her with many fond memories of that time. We've heard from other members of TUMC at his passing and more memories of that time to warm our hearts even more.

He honored us by coming to Chicago in August 1974 to stand up for us as a Groomsman and kept me from being too stupid the night before the wedding.

We will cherish our memories of Steve and pray for his family.

My deepest condolences to you, Jan! Steve and I were programmer trainees together at American Airlines! Of course, he had been a teacher for years, and I remember that his starting salary at AA was higher than his 'tenured' teaching salary (some things haven't changed)! Steve was such a fine person and he was so proud of his beautiful family and talked often about the girls. May God's grace, peace, hope and wisdom overtake you through this difficult transition. Through His almighty power, your mourning will be replaced with joy in due time. God bless!

Steve and I were Lambda Chi's together at the University of Tulsa. I lived in the frat house all four years (68-72) and got to know Steve during his freshman and sophomore years. Steve as a loving and caring person who always had time for you. I got to know him even better after we graduated when Susan and I get together with Mike and Ann Lipp’s house during football season or when he and Jan came to Dallas to see TU play SMU. He will be missed and remember has a devoted and compassionate family man.

Steve was my high school and college classmate and a fraternity brother. Kind, intelligent and sincere are words that describe him. He was always willing to help whomever with whatever they needed. My sympathies to his family. His passing saddens me.

I first met Steve when I started as a volunteer at CTCA, he was one of the "mailmen" who showed me the ropes of working and delivering the mail at the hospital. A kind and smart man. I am still having disbelief of this news of his passing. Prayers to his family as they go through this sad time.

Steve and I were Lambda Chi's together at the University of Tulsa. We attended many TU sporting events over the years with him and Jan when we lived in Tulsa and since we have moved to Houston. It was always fun to catch up with Steve and Jan at the various Homecoming Parties held by Mike and Ann Lipp and Jeffery Steinke over the years. Jan and family, Peggy and I just wanted let you know we very sorry for your loss and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I've known Steven since our days at the University of Tulsa. We both did our student teaching at Rogers High School and remained friends over the years. He was a family man of great faith and ability. I will truly miss him especially at all TU sporting events. Steven was always proud of Janand his children. RIP my friend.
