Thomas Joseph's Obituary
Thomas G. Joseph, age 66, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at his home in Inola, OK. He was born Dec 13, 1951, in Peoria, IL to H. George and Betty Joseph. He grew up in Independence, MO, where he met and later married Kerry Nagel on September 7, 1974 in Tulsa, OK. He worked the majority of his career at his family’s business, Canfield & Joseph, in Tulsa. Tom truly lived life to the fullest over the years, from Enduro and MX racing, horses, flying experimental aircraft, racing homing pigeons, fishing, and flying RC planes, helicopters, and jets. What he enjoyed most, though, was his family. Tom enjoyed spending time at the lake boating, swimming, and fishing with his sons Jared (Corey) and Adam (Whitney) and grandchildren Scott, Claire, and Ava. His lake adventures also included nieces and nephews Jennifer (Josh) and Jon (Amber) and great nieces Jeana and Jill. Tom is preceded in death by his father H. George Joseph, father-in-law Larry Nagel, mother-in-law Pat Baer, sister-in-law Janice Joseph, and brother-in-law Jerry Nagel.Tom is survived by his mother Betty Joseph, wife Kerry, brother Greg Joseph, sister Bev Lahn (John), brother-in-law Larry Nagel (Mary), sister-in-law Becky Nagel, nieces and nephews Kristen (Justin), Kevin (Ashley), Jack (Katie), Derek (Megan), Danielle (Shawn), Sarah (Alex), Tessa, and Jessie (Ryan), and great-nieces and nephews.Family, friends, and others whose lives Tom touched are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service at Kerry and Tom’s home, Saturday, November 10 at 1:30. Tom lived a life worthy of celebrating. He loved the outdoors and was at home in his jeans and boots. Fittingly, that is how we will celebrate – in our jeans and boots. We will have a tent set up to ward off the elements but if you are joining us, be prepared for some chilly weather. A BBQ lunch will be served after the ceremony with RC flying and the Bedlam game.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to:Hydrants of Hope 12998 E. 510 Rd.
