My deepest sympathy for the family. He was the best man.
I meet Tom when He and my mother both worked at Amerada Hess. After that first meeting he became like an uncle to me, always asking my mom how I was doing. When I got older and had graduated from High School, and also after I returned from the Navy. I would seek his counsel on matters that sometimes would confuse me. But what I remember the most about Tom is that whenever I would come to see him that big smile and his shining eyes were the greatest "Hello", a person could ask for. In every talk he and I would have, I would always leave a bit wiser, and with a feeling being special because of the time he took to listen and then to convey his own special knowledge on to me in a way that never left me wondering if I had left out any question I should have asked. This world will be a little less privileged, with the passing of this great and wise gentleman. Sláinte mhaith my friend, May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand. You are and will be missed.
Words cannot even begin to express how special Papa Tom has been in our lives. His love was remarkable and unconditional, his support genuine and without limits. Papa Tom truly embodied Christian generosity and faithfulness, and everyone that was fortunate to cross paths with him has been made better by his presence. We are heartbroken with the void that will be left in our lives with the loss of such an amazing man. May we all strive to honor his life and his character with our actions and prayers. I know that many considered Papa Tom a father figure, and we are no different. We will miss him dearly and know that he took a part of us to heaven right along with him…. My heart is sad, and i'll miss you so much. Love you forever, Unkie Tom.
Tom was a great man, and an awesome friend. He served his country through the Army, served his community through Emergency Management and was a true leader. He was a great friend to my grandparents, my parents and to us. He will be missed but not forgotten. Our hearts go out to the family, especially Janice and Mark… Scott & Cathy Evans
