Thomas L. Thomas II's Obituary
Thomas L. Thomas II, known as Tom to his family and friends, passed away peacefully during the early hours of Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015. He is survived by his wife and son, Marie-Claude (nee Collin) and Sacha Thomas, both of Tulsa; David and Georgianne Thomas, his brother and sister-in-law; and Gloria and Fred Vallier, his sister and brother-in-law, an elderly uncle, Col. D.R. Thomas, USA Ret. as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was born in Akron, OH on April 20, 1943 to Borgny (nee Tobiason) and Charles Linley Thomas and was reared in Horton, Kansas. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tania Laure, his parents, and a sister, Barbara Charlene (nee Thomas) Walrafen.Tom graduated from Horton High School, Horton, Kansas, in 1961, and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Laverne while servng in the Air Force. Tom met his wife of 49 years while stationed in a small town east of Paris, France. He was known to make quite an impression in town with his good looks and enormous (Ford), rusty, but fast car.Tom retired from the United States Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant after a twenty-year career, including service in Vietnam. He enjoyed being stationed in many countries especially France and Italy. Afer retiring from the Air Force, he settled with his wife and young son in Tulsa, OK, where he found a new career at Telex. He later worked at the Sabre Call Center where he was known to have a knack for helping distraught travel agents make sense of technology. Tom retired again in 2007 to enjoy his interests in genealogy, photography, vintage cameras, new technology as well as traveling to Southern France with his wife where they maintained a second home. They are active in the Alliance Francaise where they met many of the dearest friends.He will be greatly missed.Celebration of Life will be held at the Floral Haven Family Center on August 17, 2015 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
