Thomas "Tom" Richard Wright's Obituary
Thomas "Tom" Richard Wright, 82, resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on January 9, 2022. Thomas was born November 6, 1939, in Downey, California. He was raised by Dick and Wanda Wright along with his sister, Jean. Tom met the love of his life, Jo Ella Suggs while they were attending high school. After graduation, the couple married and had three girls; Terri, Lori, and Pam, and son, Thomas. In 1963 Tom moved his family to Broken Arrow.
Tom started his postal career as a carrier in California and worked for the Post Office for 33 years. Tom was the Postmaster in Arapaho, Oklahoma, and Thomas, Oklahoma, and assistant Postmaster in Altus, Oklahoma; eventually retiring as Postmaster in Coweta, Oklahoma in 1992. After his retirement, Tom began missionary work for several years and traveled to India and Kenya.
Thomas was preceded in passing by his parents, Dick and Wanda Wright, and daughter, Lori. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jo Ella; daughter, Terri Helm; daughter, Pam Wright, and son, Thomas Wright; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sister, Jean, and numerous other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Faith Fellowship Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
