Verle Lloyd McCoy's Obituary
At the age of 81, Verle McCoy (Pa) decided he was ready to see the love of his life (Dottie McCoy – Granny) again. He managed without her for 20 months but finally it was time. Verle and Dottie were blessed with three incredible children, Verle Kim, Cynthia and Richard, 2 loving daughter-in-laws Susan and Mary, 6 wonderful grandchildren, Jeremy, Jami, Austin, Tyler, Lauren and Reed, 11 outstanding great-grand children, Morgan, Amber, Chris, Sheridan, Hunter, Cooper, Bradey, Maddox, Karina, Kyson and Jace and two terrific great, great grand children, Aliana and Christian. Verle served in the United States Navy for four years, visiting Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Hawaii. He enjoyed water skiing, coaching, square dancing, and golfing, excelling at all. He was an excellent athlete with professional talent, though he choose family over sport. The only thing he could spin better than a golf ball was a story. Whether a quip, riddle, joke or limerick, he was a master story teller who would hold his audience on the edge of their seats. One of the joys of his later years was watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren find enjoyment in learning how to spin a yarn. He was a caring, supportive, understanding, and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He and Granny provided their family an example of how to live to the fullest. He will be remembered fondly and missed terribly by his children: Verle Kim McCoy and wife Susan, Cynthia Joan McCoy, and Richard Allen McCoy; grandchildren: Jamie, Austin, Tyler, Jeremy, Lauren, and Reed; greatgrandchildren Sheridan, Amber, Bradey, Karina, Maddox, Kyson, Jace, Morgan, Christopher, Hunter, and Cooper; great-greatgrandchildren: Aliana and Christian; adoptive greatgrandson: Grayson; brothers: Gerald, Keith, Dallas; and sisters: Ruby Carol and Anita. Verle is preceded in death by his wife: Dottie McCoy on March 20, 2014; prents; siblings: Hollis, Ward and Forrest. Ready or not Granny, here he comes. We love you Pa.
