Vernon Lee Miles' Obituary
A prince among men left his world on November 12, 2013. Vernon Lee Miles is survived by his wife & soulmate of 65 years, Peggy Darlene Munson Miles. His sister Carla Mae Dillard. Along with his two fine sons, William Rodney (Bill) & wife Lisa and Michael Eugene (Mike) & wife Trudi. And a son he loved & called his own, Francis (Frank) Goldbach & wife Cindy. Four grandchildren Kelly, Elizabeth, Sara & Michael. Two great grandchildren, Reagan & Blake.Born in the depression on March 6, 1929 Vern over came many hardships from the beginning of his life to the end. One would never know how difficult his life was as Vern only focused on the positive.Vern was always his own man & never worked for anyone his whole life. He was fiercely independent & always provided well for his family. Never did he betray his fellow man or turn his back on anyone in need. For Vern, if he had two nickels & you were in need – one nickel was yours with no questions asked. He treated everyone as a friend.Our love & gratitude for him will last forever. We long to rejoin him & know in our hearts he will continue to guide us as we navigate life’s Northwest Passage.His legacy includes:Honorable service in the Air Force & Marines.Exalted Ruler of Elk Lodge #2092 in Lexington Park, Maryland.Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge in Hollywood, Maryland.
