Vernon Eugene Reeves was born on January 25, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas and passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Veterans’ Center in Claremore, Oklahoma.Vernon is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy; his son, Bob & daughter-in-law, Nicole; his son, Greg; his daughter, Shelly & son-in-law, Tim; his daughter-in-law Kayleen; and his grandchildren, Crystal, Sarah, Andrea, and Nicholas, sister, Dorothy and brother, Joe.Vernon was preceded in passing by his son, Buck; his grandson, Brandon; his parents, Opal and Buck; and by his siblings, Beverly, Judy, Charles and James.Vernon was a medic in the Army during the Korean War.Vernon retired after working 16 years as an insurance agent for Prudential. Prior to working for Prudential, Vernon worked for Baker’s Shoes for 30 years.Vernon enjoyed playing golf and he loved following his grandchildren in golf, basketball, pom, dance, softball, and baseball. He was always their number one fan! Vernon really enjoyed going to Union High School Football Games for 40 years with his daughter.Throughout his life Vernon touched many people with his gentle spirit and giving nature. He had a strong faith in God, which he professed through the way he lived his life. He taught Sunday School for many years.There will be a Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29th at Floral Haven Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
