Wilhelmina Gwartney's Obituary
Wilhelmina Gwartney, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on November 13 with her family at her side.
Wilhelmina was born on February 20, 1938, in Tulsa, Ok to Cecil Nantz and Letha Newman. She married the love of her life, Arnold Gwartney, on February 19, 1955. Wilhelmina retired from Zebco where she worked and made life-long friends for over 40 years. She enjoyed square dancing, camping, cooking, and most of all just spending time with her family. Her motto was come on in and have a seat and stay awhile. She also loved to collect blue carnival glass and country cousins which she displayed proudly in her home.
Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years Arnold Gwartney, daughter Gail Strange and husband John, son Steve Gwartney and wife Peggy, son Randy Gwartney, granddaughters Erica Reans, Tamara Hercheck and Jennifer Niedzwiecki, grandsons Matthew Gwartney and wife Carly and Jeremy Teel, great-grandsons Thomas and Trenton Hercheck and Stefan Teel, great-granddaughters Kelsey Rice, Terrianna Hercheck, Erin and Justice Reans, Stella and Gwen Gwartney, Mars Niedzwiecki and her great great grandson Adonis Hercheck. She is also survived by her beloved brother Ikey Nantz.
Wilhelmina was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Steven Lee Gwartney, great-granddaughter Kellycia Hercheck, her brothers Jimmy and Doyle Nantz, and her sisters Lou Sedwick and Jeanetta Myers.
Services to celebrate Wilhelmina’s life will be held by Rev. Darrin McKnight on November 19 at 3 pm at Floral Haven Chapel.
Visitation will be held at Floral Haven on Wednesday, November 17th from 4-6 pm and on Thursday, November 18th from noon until 6 pm. Graveside services will be conducted at Floral Haven following her service and dinner at the family center from 4:30-6:30.
