Willann Goree's Obituary
Willann Goree, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, born July 10, 1940, passed away at home on July 12, 2020 at the age of 80.
Willann was the younger daughter of William Meyer and Dorothy Hoyt Meyer. A happy childhood was marked by tragedy when her father died in an automobile accident that also injured her mother and sister. From then on, Willann and her sister were raised by their mother with the loving help of family members who visited from Joplin when they could.
Willann married the love of her life, Tom Goree, in 1961. Their happy 58-year marriage ended only with Tom's death in 2019. Although it brings us comfort to know that she and Tom are together again, she will be terribly missed here on earth.
Devoted to her family and to her children's wellbeing, Willann was at home with her son and daughter until they were grown. She then took some part-time jobs, her favorite being at a used book store, which was a perfect fit as she was extremely intelligent and loved to read.
Despite Willann's later years being complicated by a decline in health, her devotion to her family never flagged. She enjoyed choosing useful and fun gifts for her children and grandchildren and was close to her nieces.
She is survived by her daughter; her son and daughter-in-law; three grandchildren; three nieces and five nephews and their families.
The funeral service for Willann will be held on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 3:00 pm in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Prior to the service, family and friends are invited to a fellowship from 1:00 to 2:45 pm in the Floral Haven Family Center. Burial will be private at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family respectfully requests that all attendees wear a face covering. (Masks will be provided.)
The funeral service will be webcasted for those who cannot attend in person. You can find the webcast at the following link:
