William "Buzz" Conklin's Obituary
William S. “Buzz” Conklin, 80, passed away March 24, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Buzz was born May 20, 1933 in Southampton, New York. Following high school he served in the U.S. Navy and then attended school at the Academy of Aeronautics in New York. Moved to Tulsa in 1955 to begin his life long career in the field of aviation – working for American Airlines, World Airway and most recently Omni Air International. On September 26, 2007 he received the Charles Taylor “Master Mechanic” Award from the FAA. Survived by Faye Conklin, wife of 59 years; their two sons, Jeff and wife, Sherri, Glenn and wife, Trish; six grandchildren, Brandon, Rachel, Stephannie, Glenn Jr., Corky and Tracy; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 3:00 pm, Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, OK, reception immediately following at the Floral Haven Family Center. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice will be appreciated.
