Floral Placement & Decorating Regulations
Floral Haven understands and embraces the human desire to pay tribute and respect to those that pass on before us through the adorning of a loved one’s grave with flowers and appropriate seasonal decorations. Careful consideration has been made regarding the following Rules and Regulations; they have been enacted in a sincere effort to preserve and enhance the overall beauty of the cemetery, and assist in ensuring the safety of all who visit. Please share this very important document with family and friends who may be impacted, and please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions regarding such.
Sincerely,
Floral Haven Management Team
General Floral Placement:
Floral arrangements, both fresh and artificial, may be placed at the burial site in approved, permanent regulation vase receptacles through the year, with the exception of the month of Spring Clean-Up (see Spring Clean-Up below). Floral Haven reserves the right at all times to remove floral arrangements that become unsightly, wilted, discolored, or seasonally inappropriate as explained in the below sections.
• December 1st to March 1st: Any appropriate winter decorations may be placed into a regulation vase or on the ground such as: wreaths, blankets, flowers, etc. with the following exception: ALL grave blankets will be removed Feb. 1st.
• April 1st to December 1st: Fresh and artificial flowers are permitted at ALL TIMES in regulation floral vases.
• Memorial Day: All floral decorations are permitted; everything except arrangements in the regulation vases will be removed after one week.
Spring Clean-Up: (Beginning 2016) March 1st thru March 31st:
In our concerted effort to maintain Floral Haven at the highest possible level, and in preparation for the New Year and growing season, Floral Haven staff will remove and dispose of all Non-Seasonal and/or faded floral arrangements and decorations in an approved vase. This includes items in vases adorning mausoleums, niches, private estates, etc… If the Spring Clean-Up date(s) conflict with the date of birth or passing of your loved one and you wish to decorate during this time period, please refer to the “Special Occasion” section below, and request a Special Occasion Permit form from a Floral Haven Representative.
Special Occasion Permit:
At Floral Haven Memorial Gardens it is our desire to provide families with the opportunity to celebrate a loved one’s anniversary (birth, death, wedding, etc…) or a special milestone. As a result of such, a family member preferably Next of Kin may request a “Special Occasion Decoration Permit” which allows families to fully decorate a loved one’s burial space in honor of the occasion during the growing season, when otherwise such decorations would not be permitted. The permit will be dated NO MORE than (1) one week from the date it was issued. The permit will be issued by a Cemetery Representative and recorded at the cemetery office. The permit must be displayed on the decorations placed at the burial site in a noticeable manner. Any decorations that do not conform to the General Placement Policy at the conclusion of the time period will be disposed of by cemetery personnel.
Holiday/Winter and Special Days of Honor:
Christmas Season (December 1st thru February 1st): Live or artificial flowers, wreaths placed upon easels and/or grave blankets will be allowed during this time period. We ask that Christmas decorations be removed at the conclusion of this time period or risk them being removed and disposed of by cemetery personnel.
Mausoleum Flowers and Adornments:
Floral placement (artificial and fresh) is limited to approved floral vase containers properly installed upon a crypt front. It is NOT permissible to place floral arrangements on the floor or walkways causing a trip hazard and unsightliness. At NO time can pictures, personal artifacts, flags, or other decorations be taped to a memorial crypt front. Please see a Cemetery Representative for ideas and products approved for personalizing a loved one’s memorial crypt front (vases, lights, cameo pictures and frames, emblems, etc…).
Funeral Service Flowers:
Flowers brought out to our cemetery in conjunction with a Funeral and/or burial service will be removed by cemetery personnel no later than (3) three days following the service date.
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT PERMITTED DURING ANY OTHER TIME THAN STATED ABOVE.
Baskets, Potted Plants, Easels or Wreaths.
AT NO TIME WILL THE FOLLOWING BE PERMITTED:
Balloons, fences, ceramics, pumpkins, statuary, glass of any kind, shepherd hooks, windmills, flag poles, landscaping, etc… If in doubt, always ask.
FLORAL HAVEN WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR ANY FLORAL DECORATIONS, PERSONAL ITEMS, OR ADORNMENTS PLACED WITHIN THE CEMETERY.
Thank you for helping us keep these sacred grounds beautiful.
